The Points system is OK IMO. I just did a test on excel, breaking the 584 11 man schools into 8 divisions of 73 teams. Then taking the top 32 teams of each division points wise, only five 6-3 teams...

I see the current system as a huge advantage for Class D schools. 5 wins and you are in. The other classes have to win 6. You can whine about how many Ds get in. But it's a much easier path as a D.
